The Polish keeper kept a clean sheet in a 4-0 win at Wembley and received a number of plaudits, despite being dropped as the number 1 back in January, when he was infamously found smoking in the showers.
Wojciech has certainly done himself no favours with regards to his Arsenal future here, as The Sun back page exposes him, Arsene Wenger surely won’t be too pleased.
This comes just days after Szczesny vowed that he wanted to stay at Arsenal as long as he could, and heaped praise on Wenger.
Whether Wenger’s praise is reciprocated is yet to be seen, but Arsenal are rumouredly looking for a new goalkeeper, with Chelsea’s out of favour Petr Cech believed to be Wenger’s first choice. A player who would surely jump straight into that number 1 jersey.
On a side-note however, the fact this makes the back page headline with all the FIFA corruption revelations that are unfolding day-by-day, says little for The Sun’s priorities.
