Arsenal’s midfield playmaker, Mesut Ozil, was presented with the German football ambassador public award on Tuesday night.
The Gunners £42.5 million record signing was given the award for his outstanding international charity work.
Ozil said: “Thank you for this great award. It means a lot to me especially because it was voted for by the fans. I’m also very proud that I can accept this prize.
“Many people don’t have the opportunity to enjoy life. Our goal is simply to create a bit of a better future for them. That is our aim.”
He has given huge donations in Africa, and also in Brazil where his German side won the World Cup last summer.
This highlights what a remarkable man he is and as well as footballer.
